Bottom Feeders

When you are eating on the bones of a caracas that lies at the bottom of the ocean that qualifies you for the title of bottom feeder; maybe even extreme bottom feeder. The zombie worms attach themselves to the bones of sunken carcasses, recently thought to be only whales, but any bones will do, and feed.

The worm grabs hold of the bones, rooting its tendrils to the decaying structure; hundreds of small filaments slip into the porous bone and they feed upon the fats and oils that remain from the creature's life at the top.

I'm not sure how yet, but this is too good to pass up and must appear in a monster book somewhere!
